SHOE CARE TIPS
To preserve the character and longevity of your vintage shoes, learn how to handle them with care. Gently brush away dust and dirt with a soft horsehair brush (ideally after each wear). To clean leather, use a slightly damp, microfiber cloth. For deeper leather cleaning, use a slightly damp horsehair brush and a small amount of saddle soap. After seeing slight suds, wipe away with a microfiber cloth. After cleaning, apply a high-quality leather conditioner to restore suppleness and moisture. To clean canvas, use a small amount of dish soap and water. Use shoe trees or tissue paper and stuff the shoe to maintain shape. Store shoes in a dust bag, or a cool, dry place away from direct heat and sunlight. For worn out soles and heel caps, refer to a professional cobbler for resoling and heel cap replacement. With consistent, gentle care, your vintage shoes will age gracefully.
